Leaf-Sandstorms Chronicles 13

“Come on Kai!!!” Kohaku cheered for her teammate with all she had. But it seemed Kai was fighting a losing battle. This Myato he was against was a Rock village ninja and seemed very powerful with his Taijutsu.

Kai rolled across the floor seemingly beat as Myato laughed triumphantly.

Ken sighed as he watched the fight, “Well this battles an obvious one….”

Makoto stayed emotionless and spoke cold, “Not as obvious as yours was.”

Nami, a sand village Jounin was standing outside the preliminary’s arena; she was a tall woman with short blonde hair and brown eyes. She was also the sensei for Tausha’s team.

She took a step for the door but felt a sharp pain in her neck, she had time to look back to see a cloaked figure.

The cloaked figure slowly took off her hood and smirked at Nami, “You’re the one training my sister and her team? No wonder she’s so pathetic.”

Nami’s eyes widened as the name escaped her lips, “….Katsumi?”

It was Katsumi and she had decided to let Kabuto do his own thing as she went an observed the end of the preliminary rounds. “You remember me? I’m almost honored….almost.” She shot off a perfectly aimed needle at lightening speed and watched Nami fall unconscious. “I hope you don’t mind I borrow your identity for a while.”

Katsumi preformed a transformation jutsu and took Nami’s appearance after hiding her sleeping figure in a good spot. “Thanks again Nami.” She stood up and smirked before heading into the room the matches were being held in, shutting the door quietly and stepping out onto the balcony.

She walked quietly and stood next to Tausha, before peering over the railing to watch the match.

Tausha looked up to her sensei and smiled, “You made it. It’s great to see you.”

The Nami look alike just ignored her; Kastumi really didn’t feel like saying anything to Tausha, even if she was in disguise. The last encounter they shared Tausha had actually tried to kill her and she barely survived thanks to Kabuto. She remembered every moment perfectly….

~!~Months Earlier~!~

Tears began to flow down Tausha’s cheeks as she closed her eyes and listened to Katsumi’s feet rush towards her. She whispered, “We’ll die together…”

Tausha slightly moved just as Katsumi’s hand of needles pierced through her chest. Tausha’s gasp of pain was drowned by the sound of Katsumi’s own scream of agony.

Katsumi’s body trembled as she felt her own blood roll down her chest. She looked down and saw Tausha’s hand inside of her, “That’s…why you…didn’t move…” She leaned on Tausha while pushing her hand deeper into her chest, and then she hugged her with her free hand.

Tausha whimpered in pain as Katsumi dug her hand deeper into her chest, “Katsumi…I have your heart.” Tears began to stream down Tausha’s face, “But you…missed mine…Why?”

Katsumi coughed up blood as tears slowly filled her eyes, “Because you moved….baka. I missed….because you moved….”

Tausha’s voice began to tremble, “After I kill you…I’ll die too, we’ll die together….just as sisters should…” She tried to take a deep breath but it was too painful and her tears wouldn’t stop pouring. “I love you Katsumi!” Tausha used the remaining chakra she had to shoot a needle through Katsumi’s heart.

Katsumi gripped the railing tightly and glared at Tausha through the corner of her eyes.

Tausha smiled nervously back up at who she thought was her sensei, “Sorry, Nami-sensei, I didn’t mean to make you mad or anything….” She turned back to the match just in time to see Kai counter the rock Nin’s Taijutsu skills with his own.

Kai stood huffing for breath over an unconscious Myato. “Heh…take that….”

Genma yelled out, “The winner of this match is Kai!”

Soon medical ninja’s ran to collect Myato’s body and check on Kai.

Kohaku was clapping from up top, “I knew you could do it Kai!” She gave her teammate a pat on the back when he came back to his spot next to her.

Back on the other side of the room Ken walked up to his sensei, “Hey Nami-sensei, where have you been? You missed all of our matches.”

The Nami look alike didn’t turn to face him she just smirked, “Well I knew you would lose anyways.”

Tausha and Makoto both looked at each other a little funny, Nami was one of the nicest people they knew, sure she could be tough, but she never really said things to hurt someone, especially intentionally. Makoto stayed silent while Tausha spoke up, “Nami-sensei? Are you feeling alright?”

Katsumi wasn’t dumb, she knew Nami and her personality well, but she was letting her anger get the best of her and just standing next to Tausha was starting to get under her skin. “….Sorry…just a little stressed is all. I‘m sure all of you tried your best.” She ended with a forced smile that almost looked real.

“Yeah, we did. Well me and Makoto anyways.” Tausha looked back up at the screen as two more names flashed.

Kame Vs. Dawn

Ken looked over at Kame, “My beautiful flower is about to fight. Good luck Kame!”

Nami spoke up, “Two sand village shinobi’s? Hmm….”

Makoto continued to stare at Nami through the corner of his eye, still suspicious of her.  Nami look a like saw Makoto staring, Katsumi almost swallowed her pride and smiled.  

“What is it Makoto?”

Makoto blinked then shook his head as he turned his attention back at the match.  

Ken whistled out loud.   “Man two hot chicks in one battle nice!”

Tausha rolled her eyes as Saya was about to bash Ken’s brains out.

Kame smiled sweetly.  “Hello!”

Dawn smiled back.  “Hey…”

Back up on the balcony Saya smirked.  “Kame has this in the bag.”

Tsurento looked at Saya.  “Don’t assume just yet Saya, we don’t know what this Dawn girl can do.”

Saya semi-glared at Tsurento.  “Keh…whatever.”

Saya turned back when she heard the first blow down in the arena.  Kame had her turtle shell out and in front of her sure as what looked at spears trying to dig into the shell, but Dawn’s finger nails extended at an amazing pace and with Kame’s fast reflexes she was able to block it.  

Dawn smirked.  “Nice!”

Dawn then lifted up her right hand and pointed her index and middle finger over her face and looked at Kame.  

Then in a black vapor Dawn was gone.

Kame’s eyes widen at the jutsu.  Then Kame quickly turned her shell behind her just when she heard a clang.

“Damn…you’re fast.”

Kame smiled over her shell.  “So are you!”  Kame stood up and stared at Dawn.  “Now it’s my turn I think to goon the offense.”

Kame gripped a cloth string and like a Frisbee she tossed it at Dawn.  Dawn’s eyes widen as she jumped up in the air to avoid the shell, she then landed on a different part of the arena, but Kame then shot back at her with her shell.  Then Kame lifted up her two fingers then slammed her palm on the ground.  

“Art of summoning!”

Then a turtle about the size of a motor bike stood next to Kame, its jaws look like they could bite thought steel.  

“Waniguchi.”

Soon the giant snapping turtle jumped in the air and dived in the ground until a huge hole was only left.

Dawn looked around on the ground.  “Crap…that’s not really fair…”

Dawn looked up and saw the turtle shell buzzing towards Dawn.  Soon Dawn went to the left, she gasped when the ground underneath her gave way as Waniguchi soon jumped out of with his mouth wide open.  Dawn then as fast as she could did her transport again then landed a couple of yards away from the turtle and Kame.

Dawn sighed.  “I thought this was going to be easy, well I might as well as finish this!”

Dawn charged at Kame as Kame dispersed Waniguchi and Kame charged also wanting to stop the fight as well.

Then before the girls were about to collide Dawn disappeared and then repapered behind Kame and brought down her fist.  Kame turned around and brought up her shield and slammed it in Dawn’s stomach as Dawn punched Kame in the face pretty hard also.  Soon from the impact both girls fell back, not moving.

Kira gasped.  “Dawn!”

As Tsurento’s eyes widen, Saya shouted Kame’s name.  Genma walked up to both girls. Then looked up while chewing on his senbon.  “Both opponents are down, neither have passed.”

After Genma stated, Tsurento jumped over the railing and rushed to Kame as did Saya.  Kira ran to Dawn.

“Kame?”  Tsurento said.  Soon Kame opened her eyes.  Her cheek was turning black and blue from the strong punch.  

She looked up and smiled.  “Hey Tsu-kun.”

Saya slid over to her teammates.  “Are you alright?”

Kame looked ready to tear up.  “I lost?”

Tsurento smiled.  “Not to us you didn’t.”

Saya smirked.  “You guys went into a draw.”

Kame smiled and nodded.  “But still, I lost.”

Saya lightly patted Kame’s head.  “Did you hear what Tsurento said, you didn’t to us.  You fought great.”

Danya slowly opened her eyes.  She looked around her as she got up from the bed.  She looked at her hands, her right hand was gone but a red light replaced it, then her left hand remained the same.  

As she stood up, she felt a rush of power flowing through her veins.  Danya couldn’t help but start chuckling.

“Wow…”  She said breathlessly.  But then a pain in her right eye made her flinch as the black in her right eye started to disappear and then her vision got back to normal.  

Danya walked to the door and opened it, while breaking the four seals around her at once.  As she stepped out fresh air hit her face.  She then started to walk towards the arena when she remembered where she was at.  

While she was walking she started to think.

‘I should start training in Taijutsu, else this raw power might overwhelm me…maybe I should ask Lee…’

Then Danya saw she was in front of the doors that lead to the arena, she was about to open it when medical ninjas rushed out carrying out a rock nin with kunai and stars sticking out of his body and he looked like he was in pain.  

Danya looked up just when she felt a body pressing again her.

“Danya!  You’re alright!”  

Danya noticed it was Bryan as she held her.  “We were worried!”

Danya laughed and pat Bryan’s head just when Bryan as flung off her and Tausha slammed her body into Danya.

“You are alright!!”  Tausha smiled with tears dripping.

Danya smiled.  “Yeah…what happened?”

“After you won you passed out and Lestat went berserk and attacked you and he…”  Tausha turned around and pointed up at the balcony where Danya saw Ken crying over a girl with a bruise forming on her cheek.

“What happened to Kame?”

“She fought and she got punched and Ken is bawling over it, but not them, the guy next to Kame with the glasses save you!”  

Danya looked up.  “Oh!  That was nice…even though we barely know each other…”

Danya then shrugged and walked up there with Bryan and Tausha.  When they got close to Kame and her teammates.  Danya smiled at the boy and a small blushed formed.  “Thank you for saving me when I was knocked out.”

Tsurento looked at Danya nodded with a smile.  “No problem.”

Inside Tsurento’s mind Kiru growled with little satisfaction.  ‘The power that is coming from this girl is almost intoxicating...almost.

Tsurento’s eyes widen in his mind.  Then he noticed a small black wave moving down her body to her right thigh as she turned around to talk to Tausha.

“Danya-san?”  

Danya turned around and looked at Tsurento.  “Yes?”

“What was that bruise you had during your fight?”

Danya flinched a little.  “It was nothing.”

“Alright, two more Amiruro and Thrall.”

The mist and rock nin stood facing each other.  Amiruro was of course smirking under his mask.  While this Thrall had a huge double hammer on his back.  

“Ready?”  Genma then jumped out of the way.  “Fight!”

Tsurabusu leaned over the railing with a wide smirk, “Finish him off fast Amiruro. Don’t play around.”

Amiruro flew back as his opponent whipped his hammer off his back and swung it full force at him.

Thrall was obviously skilled with his weapon; he swung it with ease and made sure to keep Amiruro on his toes.

Amiruro’s eyes grew freakishly wide when the hammer whizzed by his face, barely missing his nose, “Watch it! You almost knocked my face off!”

Thrall swung his hammer again, “That’s the point!”

Up on the balcony Tausha was leaning over the railing too, “I never really got to see Amiruro’s moves, I wonder what he does.”

The Nami look-alike sighed, “You’re so stupid sometimes, look at the bandages on his face, and they’re not just normal ones. They are constricting something.”

Tausha looked at Nami a little shocked and shook her head, “Sorry….and I see it now.”

Ken yawned loudly, “Yeah but what’s in his mouth then?” He moved back to lean against the wall and slide down to sit. “Not that I care, this match is so boring….there’s no hotties.”

Makoto’s eyes moved back to Nami, “Nami-sensei, can I speak with you in private?”

That caught Tausha’s attention, “Why? What’s going on?”

Makoto shook his head, “Nothing, I just need to ask her something…personal. Please excuse us.” He started to lead the way to the door while Nami followed him.

Tausha turned to Danya, “That was kind of strange.”

Danya nodded in agreement before patting Tausha on the back, “Don’t let it worry you, I’m sure everything’s fine.”

The Nami look-alike follows Makoto out the doors and hide a smirk, “What is it Makoto?”


Makoto’s face remained completely emotionless as he stared up at her, “I don’t know what’s wrong with you but I have never seen you eye Tausha with the hatred I’ve seen today.” His fist started to tighten, “I am not blind, nor stupid. You are not Nami.”

Nami tilted her head to the side, “That’s not a very nice thing to say Makoto, I’m just having a rough day, I managed to see Ken’s fight and I am very disappointed, that’s all.” Her voice was calm and very relaxed.

Makoto watched her carefully and shook his head slowly, “Then your hatred should have been aimed at him, not Tausha-chan.” He made a movement with his fist but was quickly stopped when the Nami look-alike grabbed his arm tightly and smirked.

Down in the arena, Amiruro was already removing the bandages wrapped around his mouth. “My bad, I played around too long and now everyone looks bored.” He actually started pouting as his sharp teeth were finally revealed.

Thrall stood back huffing before raising his hammer again and charging. He was quickly stopped as an icy chill rushed past him and a blizzard like wind blew from Amiruro’s mouth.

Amiruro opened his mouth wider as the wind from it grew colder and harder, slamming Thrall straight back into the arena wall and leaving a crater behind him.

Amiruro quickly shut his mouth and started rewrapping the bandages, “Oh man! Sorry! That was stronger than I wanted….It still hard to control.” He rubbed his neck as a sweat drop appeared at the back of his head.

Genma walked over to check on Thrall and found him completely frozen, “Looks like Amiruro is the winner.”

Up on the balcony Tausha looked over at Danya with eyes full of shock, “Oh my gosh….wow, he froze the guy….completely.”

Danya nodded, “Wasn’t expecting that….” She looked over when she saw Nami walking back in but no Makoto, “Hey! Where’s Makoto?”

Nami shook her head and slightly smiled, very slightly, “He really wasn’t feeling well so I let him head back to his hotel room.”

Tausha looked over confused, “He looked fine to me.”

Nami shook her head, “You of all people should know how well Makoto can hide how he feels. You’ll see him later so stop worrying.” She turned to look up at the screen and Tausha hesitantly turned to look as well.

“Yes! The last match and its two hotties!!!” Ken yelled again after seeing the last two names appear on the screen.

Yayoi Vs Kohaku

Danya looked at Nami with cold eyes.  Danya turned back to the match as Genma shouted for the match to start.

Then Danya smirked and looked at Nami, who then turned to her.  Nami looked pale a bit.

Danya pat Tausha’s shoulder.  “I’ll be right back; I am going to get something to drink.”

Tausha smiled and nodded.  Danya then turned around and walked away, but not before hitting her arm pretty hard against Nami’s.  Danya glanced behind her.

“Sorry about that.”  Danya made sure to make it sweet, but also cold.

Nami-look-a-like kept her cool.  ‘She is soo fucking dead.’  She fake smiled.  “Don’t worry about it.”

Danya smirked and walked away.

On the other side of the arena, the teammates cheered for their comrades.

“Come on Kohaku!”  Kai screamed.  Hitori kept watching, but calling out advice.

“Don’t let her get behind you!”

Mana wanted to watch Yayoi’s fight, but couldn’t risk it.  It was a miracle that boy she fought survived!  But she cheered.  “Come on Yayoi!”

Yayoi and Kohaku were breathing heavily.  Yayoi was moving her Lightning Lasso next to her body.  While Kohaku used her Shadow Hold twice already, but it seemed useless every time because of Yayoi’s lasso and Kohaku couldn’t use her Heartbreak Jutsu.  Kohaku then charged at Yayoi using her cat like reflexes to get in a good punch or two.

This worked.  Yayoi let go of her lasso as she fell to the ground.  Kohaku didn’t stop there as she tried her Shadow Hold one last time.

Yayoi glared up and brought out her arm and her whip launched forward, Kohaku’s eyes widen as she was sent back against the wall.

Kohaku slid to the floor, she couldn’t move.  She looked up and saw Yayoi standing up.

“You cannot move anymore…”  That then Yayoi stopped and looked at the ground.  There were blades sticking out of the ground.

Kohaku smirked.  “Neither can you now.”  Kohaku flinched as she tried to move.  

Genma noticed that either person could move.  “Sense these two, can no longer fight this match is a draw!”

There was an out roar from Kohaku’s team.

“What are you talking about you Jackass?”  Kai screamed.

Genma glared up.  “Kohaku used her Shadow Hold to keep Yayoi still, it worked, but it also made Kohaku from moving also, probably because of paralysis from Yayoi’s whip and we don’t have the luxury to wait until they can move!”

Kai was about to shout something back, but Hitori put a hand on his shoulder.  “Shut up, else you will be disqualified!”

Kai growled.  “Whatever.”

Mana wasn’t too happy either with Genma’s decision.  But Hitori was right…

After Kohaku and Yayoi were able to move Genma went to the middle of the arena.

“Everyone…this is the end of the preliminaries!”
